Hola Familia Mia!!!

Lo siento que no tengo fotos hoy dia, voy a tomar algunas hoy para la proxima semana!!! (Translation – Sorry I don’t pictures today, I am going to take some today for next week)  Muchisimas Gracias for the Package!!!!!!!!  It was great to get it!  Thanks for all the stuff, I have to confess, I promised my Pensionista and her family chocolate in my last package, but I might have eaten it all with Elder Mitchell... oops haha so I snagged the bag you sent for the Elders in the office and gave it to the pensionista... HAHA!!!  Soy malo... malo hasta los huesos!  (I am bad…bad to the bone)  So sorry about that.  I was thinking a little about the questions about the birthday package.  And I was thinking if you could send some stuff for my pensionista and her husband and her little boy Hyrumcito!!!  I think it would be awesome to send them some BYU T-shirts and a little one for Hyrum!  Is he not the cutest little guy in the world! (see last weeks pics)   John (the pensionistas Hubby) is a salesman for Nissan here in Huancayo so we also have competitions that we will baptize more people then he sells cars, and the loser at the end of the month has to buy Pizza Hut for the others!  Haha good stuff!  So a little input on the trip plans, it looks like SUCH a blast to me!   I would like to stay here in Huancayo a little bit more time,  John told us he could take us to one of the Soccer games here in Huancayo, (the team is Esport Huancayo... haha)  But I think that would be cool, I doubt that Mom or Liney would go, but Dad you and I could hit it up!  And I would like to spend some time with John and Patty and Hyrumcito, and my converts here, we could play a pick up game of soccer in the church or something!  And I don’t think I will end my mission here, so according to my last area, I imagine I will want to visit there too...  So if I don’t end in the jungle, you know I am going to want to hit that up and the whole Inca trail looks like an absolute blast!  Also we can go out to lunch with President Ardila and his fam when we are in Lima.   Also there is a chance that I can talk to Luis and Ines, the couple that are fire fighters in Paucarbamaba, I heard from them a little while ago and they have plans to get sealed.  So that would be an absolute dream if they get sealed in December... I am going to write them a letter to see about their plans!

So I don’t really remember what other questions you asked last week, what happens is I read the letters that same day or Tuesday and then with all that goes on in the week, I completely forget about you questions... sorry, yes I know dad, it’s not very hard to write it down in my little planner!  I will do better!  So, I explained what happened with our investigators and all that in the voice recordings! QUE RABIA!  but oh well we will keep on keepin on, we could have up to 6 baptisms this week, the only problem is that the investigators still aren`t very excited, so we are going to help them out, if you could include Robinson, Dionicio, Flabia, Lucero, Nicholas, and Jesus in your prayers, that they can overcome their problems and have the courage to accept their baptismal dates!

Thanks family for all that you do, thanks for the emails and packages, you’ll never know how much it means to a missionary in the field to know that every day he has his family praying for them and to go to the internet cafe and know that there will be letters, I am so blessed to be able to serve here in Peru Lima East and have SUCH a great family! LOVE YA!

Air forcen it up!!!

FAMILY!!!!
How we doing fam?  I hope life is very good and that you are excited to hear from This GUY!!!  So life is great, we had our baptism of the Hermana Yulissa!  And we have found a whole bunch of new people to baptize this month!!!  For example there is a father, his wife and daughter that were progressing for the 28th we went Sunday morning to go to church together and JUST in the nick of time arrives their cousin… woof!!! She take the dad in the back and just starts talking APOSTASIA about the church and I was SO ticked off, and the she would flippin leave and we had to go without him to church!!!
So…  I was pretty much ticked off on the way to church!  But the Lord is pretty much LO MAXIMO!  So I was a little frustrated and all but out of nothing a guy from another stake comes in with a reference of a family of 5!!!  And then the President of the Elders Quorumn gave us 3 more references!!! YES!
So I have to tell you quickly, we went to Huancavelica to help the US AIR FORCE OUT!!! SO they are all here doing free medical stuff fro all the peoplebut one problem… they don’t speak Spanish!!! Haha so they asked us to go and translate!! It was SO cool, we got there and it was a really great experience translating for the Air Force and we took a few pics, so HOW BOUT THAT the US AIR FORCE In the middle of Peru!  I haven’t seen more gringos in 20 months haha!
LOVE YOU BYE!!!
And I will wrte you about the trip and B day next week!

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES...

FAMILIA Y AMIGOS!
OH man, we had transfers or in Spanish, changes and well I was pretty bummed because my companion Elder Hernandez from Guatemala was one of the best companions I have had in my mission, and we only got to stay together 1 month, pero ASI ES LA MISION! CABALLERO NO MAS!  Or in other words, that’s the way the cookie crumples sometimes!  But my new comp is a good Elder.  He is named Elder Huerta, from Moquegua Peru, he only has 14 months in the mission and it’s his first time as a zone leader.  We get along pretty well and we are excited to keep on chugging in this great work!  I stayed in Huancayo!  HOORAY! I love Huancayo it’s the bomb!  And Elder Corbridge is now in my zone as a trainer!  HOORAY!  Finally re-united since Amarilis!  I love that Elder, he is such a champ!  And guess in what area he is!  LA FLORIDA!  YAY!  SO finally there is someone who will work hard and help out my old area!  So life is good we are about to travel to Lima for the zone leader meeting, I will get to see some pals and of course Elder Udall and Elder Madsen, MY BOYS!  Haha such good memories with them in the office, I love those kids! And Elder Avalos is here in the neighboring zone in Mantaro so we get to see each other quiet often!  VIVA! He is a great missionary as well!  SO this week we have a TON of people to baptize!  First we have a sister named Julisa Seans.  She was contacted by Elder Poindexter last December and has always wanted to get baptized, but isn’t married and she is getting married and baptized this week!  (Please let Elder Poindexter now, he will be SO happy!)  Also the Curi family is getting married and baptized this week as well a kid who is 20!   SO its going to be a crazy week please pray for them so that all can go well!  The kid is named Robinson.  So mom, I think it’s better to send the emails in word doc and yeah I need like 6 BYU t shirts, 2 larges and 4 mediums.  I also want to gift some of those small preach my gospels in Spanish to my ex comps, por favor 6 of them and I need an idea of what we can give President Ardila, he loves the Jazz and BYU, maybe a jersey or something like that of the jazz with his name on the back - I don’t know but we can think about it!  As for me umm the usual some peanut butter and sweets like that!  You the bomb fam!  I am totally digging the hair part, I am officially converted and I hope you are doing alright!

Have a good week!
Elder Spencer Marty McGhie
ps my area goal is 12 with 12 and the zone 89 with 92, we only got to 24 last month so we need some serious prayers!!!

LOVE YA!

NOTHING BETTER

HABLA FAMILIA Y AMIGOS! Jaja
HEY HOWDY HEY!  So today is a very great day!  My companion and I are very happy right now, because we had 2 giant miracles!!!  So we have had a few tough times in our area, last month wasn`t exactly what we were hoping for.  9 disconfirmations!  But a couple weeks ago, we made some clear goals of what we needed to do and now we have been able to baptize 2 weeks in a row!  But our baptisms this week were SO INCREDIBLE!  Anthony and Franco they are 2 teenagers who have 16 and 18 years (which really means they are 16 and 18 years old) and they are straight up champs!!! There uncle is the ex 2nd Counselor in one of the wards in the Huancayo Stake and they are really CONVERTS!  Our District Leader finished their baptismal interviews and came over and hugged us and said, wow, they are true converts!  Franco wasn’t too sure about his baptism, his mom is older and he has to provide for his family.  He was worried if he got baptized he would let his family down and not be able to help them.  We then clearly explained that it is the complete opposite!!!  That is he gets baptized the Lord will bless him and his family!!!  And Anthony is the bigger one, he had a pretty tough teenage life, bad friends, a few bad decisions, but that is the beauty of this GOSPEL!  He was able to repent and now he is CLEAN!  How amazing is that!   I really love those 2 kids!  It was so great to finally help these teenagers be clean again!   Oh so I was thinking a little about my birthday and well I would like things for my companions, and pensionistas!  Like BYU shirts or hoodies and stuff for pensionistas, I will think it over a few more times and get back to you! LOVE YA FAM!!!! ENJOY THE PICS!!!!
Elder McGhie!

ps dad, a little homework,
How many stakes and temples are there in Utah, and what is the percentage of members to non-members, oh and how many missions are there in Utah?  People always ask me that kind of stuff and I would like to know!  LOVE YA!  Oh and my goal for the last 4 months of my mission is baptize 30 people!!!  So help me on the count, not to be prideful but to do it for them and the Lord!!  2 down!
