Back in the FIELD and LOVIN IT!

 HOLA MI FAMILIA Y AMIGOS,
This is ELDER McGhie reporting live from Huancayo.  And I just want to tell you I am very happy to be here, but there is ALOT of work to be done!  It looks like with our logro (goals) in May, we will have a lot of catch up work to be doing in June.  We have to keep up with the stake goals, and we are, dare I say, A bit far behind... Its time to Put the Shoulder to the Wheel!  I really love my area here, its called LA LIBERTAD and its really great.  My companion is Elder Nicholas Dean Mitchell from Riverside California, he is a Grade A champion!  He was in my zone in Amarilis, there are a few pictures of him when we roofed the Stake President`s house and we are all standing on the roof taking pics!  So, there you go, my comps mane is Elder Mitchell and he is a fantastic missionary.  We get along great, he attended BYU Idaho before the mission, and we are super excited to be working together in LA LIBERTAD!  I totally spaced my adapter this morning so sadly enough there won’t be any pics coming your way today... SORRY!  We had a meeting with the Stake President in the morning and all the district leaders, because we have to DOUBLE the baptisms here in Huancayo!  So the good news is we have an awesome stake president who is really excited to work and good missionaries here in the zone. It will be a fantastic month in June!  I hope you guys will pray for me and Elder Mitchell and our zone so we can really double the baptisms here.  I know we can do it, we have a lot of work to do and some things to change around but all is possible with the Lord!!!  But I need your prayers, that I might be able to help this zone meet our goals and be the missionary that the Lord wants me to be until the end of my mission!  Please don’t forget la ZONA HUANCAYO in your prayers!  So mom, my Pensionista is really great.  She is Hermana Patty!  She is married with one little tyke that is 1 year old.  She has facebook and would love to talk to ya!  I will get here full name this week!  Being here brings back a whole lot of memories from the last time I was here.  Elder Poindexter was my zone leader, and he finished his mission last week!  Man, I miss Elder Poindexter!  His name is Bradley Poindexter from some little town in Arizona.  I can’t remember what its called, but mom, if you find him on face book, tell him I love him!  And miss him!  haha I will send him a letter shortly!  So life is great, I hope all is well there in Sandy Utah.  I can´t believe time is passing by SO fast!  I’m sorry this email is short without pics.  I have to go help an Elder who’s computer stopped working... Haha back to the life of a zone leader eh? haha LOVE YA!
Elder Spencer Marty McGhie!

Hey the computer problem with the missionary is fixed, so I have a little more time!! Your package is in Lima, I missed getting it when I left but I think I will get the package when I go to lima next Monday for Zone Leader Conference (after internet, don’t worry Mom,  I will write you Monday as usual)!!  Oh and the converse that the missionary wants are size 10.5 in black!!

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all, I LOVE YA’LL! I sent a big package home with all my stuff have you gotten it?  I will send your mother’s day card and cards for the whole fam when I get to consejo in lima next week!  Love you guys!
KEEP IT REAL!
Elder McGhie!

This is the picture that Spencer said his new
companion, Elder Mitchell is in??  My guess is
the Elder Mitchell is the one in the white shirt
sort of in the middle, I think, but I could be wrong,
I HAVE BEEN WRONG BEFORE, maybe once, haha!??? =)

Of course we all know who the guy making weird
faces in the neon green shirt is!!  He is such a nerd
but I love him so very much, nerdy and all!!
Oh and did I mention that we only have:
5 MORE MONTHS LEFT!!!! =)

HHHOOOOLLLLAA FAM Y AMIGOS!

So yesterday I received my Transfer, we went to President Ardila´s house to plan the transfers and this guy is off to Huancayo for the 2nd time!  Haha I couldn´t believe it!  I was pretty surprised, because the Zone Leader`s area is about 5 minutes from La Florida where I was about a year ago! Haha, but President told me they have a very Big Goal in Huancayo and I have to go and meet it!  At the beginning of the year President Ardila, took the Stakes goals from the whole mission and applied them to our goals, so now they are the same.  And Huancayo hasn´t met its goal yet the whole year, so the baptisms have been piling up after every month, because it is all based off a year end goal for the stake divided in trimesters.  So what I have to do is meet the goal of 43 baptisms as a zone in June!!! RAYOS DEL SOL!!! Haha that’s a whole bunch of baptisms, but I just told President, IRĂˆ Y HARĂˆ! (that means I will go, I will do) haha, I’m not so sure how we are going to do it, but hey, A MANS GOTTA DO WHAT A MANS GOTTA DO!  So with a lot of prayer and a LOT of help from the Lord, we are going to give it all in HUANCAYO!!! I’m pretty excited, and my new companion is a GRINGO!  His name is Elder Mitchell, from Orange County CALIFORNIA!!! YEAH!  I know him pretty well, he is a great missionary I am very excited to work with him!

So as you have seen from my pics, I was in Oxapampa and it was AMAZING!  SO beautiful, it’s like a paradise I mean seriously!  SO GREEN!  And I saw German decedents or GRINGOS!! Haha it was weird.  But I have to tell you what happened in Oxapamapa.  So the elders have an investigator there that attends every Sunday, his wife and 2 kids are converts about 3 years ago, and his son served a mission in Peru and got home last year.  His name is Roberto and he bore his testimony at the beginning of this month saying that he knew the church is true and all that, but he wouldn’t get baptized!!! haha President and Sister Ardila went with us to the appointment Thursday morning and we got to the house sat down and President told Roberto, well Roberto I’m President Ardila, I have been called by a prophet of God, like the missionaries, to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  And I have come today from Lima (a solid 15 hours away) to baptize you!haha!  Roberto about fell off his chair.  He was surprised and asked if we could say a prayer to thank God for bringing President and Sister Ardila to his home, and asked President to say the prayer.  We all knelt down and I felt the Spirit SO STRONG during President`s prayer it was incredible!  After the prayer we all sat up and Roberto said, thank you for your prayer and well I am getting baptized TODAY!!! HAHA!  I just about peed (sorry if this expression is offensive,  what can you do???  Some peoples kids, makes you wonder about their parents??? =) my pants and the missionaries jaws just dropped!  After 3 years and SO many Baptismal invitations from all sorts of missionaries just like that he decides to get baptized!  So I had the great opportunity to do his baptismal interview and I asked him why he wanted to get baptized.  He told me he knows the church is true, and he just needed that little push to get baptized.  He said that during President`s prayer he felt very strongly the need to be baptized, he said he felt the presence of someone calling him to the baptismal font with their hands stretched out.  What an amazing and powerful experience that really was!  I owe so much to the Ardila Family! They are SO great, and after all the stuff in Oxapampa, I rode back to Lima with President his wife and daughters!  It was really fun, I felt like I was on some family vacation, but of course it was nothing like a McGhie family drive, we missed screaming, spilling drinks in the car, emergency stops and well all that other McGhie stuff we do!  But I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Thanks fam and everyone!!!
I love you and we will be talking next Monday from HUANCAYO!  YEAH!! I will send the letter for Ryan and the size info for the converse then!
Bye!Elder Spencer Marty McGHIE!

Best P-Day Ever!

May 14, 2012
WHATS UP !!!

So life is just AMAZING here, I just finished about the greatest P day of my life, we had our spiritual share of things also our great fun!  But first off I just wanted to tell you guys it was SO GREAT to see you guys and talk on Skype!  That was just so great! And I can’t believe that was my LAST call home!  Is that just the weirdest thing ever!  It’s like yesterday I had my first one in Paucarbamba and Cried like a little school girl!  Time has just FLOWN by and it just keeps going faster and faster!  So since we have talked actually a lot of things have happened so enough with the chit chat I need to start typing!

Saturday morning…  BAPTISM! YEAH!  So Martin and Nardy are having a pretty tough time with their wedding so they asked us to baptize their son, so that was Excellent, then at 1 I had to catch my bus to get to La Merced and as usual, travel was a beast, like always in Peru.  Ha-ha so I don’t have much time but I need to tell you about today.  SO This morning we started off the Pday watching 17 Miracles.  HOLY SHNIKES IT WAS AMAZING!  I mean that movie was really great.  I won’t lie I shed some serious tears.  And after the movie, President asked for 2 testimonies, of Missionaries to tell us what they got out of the video and what they will take with them, one elder stood up and shared, and then no one else wanted to, I was leading the meeting so I was just waiting for someone to share their testimony.  BUT NO ONE would do it, so President, kinda disappointed said ok so we will just end with a pray, so I went up to pick someone for the prayer, but let’s face it, I’m from the McGhie-Spencer Generation, it is not in my blood line to pass up a chance to talk! Haha so I said, well if no one else wants to share I guess I will.  As you can remember about 99 percent of the time I bore my testimony before the mish I cried, and in the beginning of the mission I always was crying.  But it has been a very long time since I have cried in a testimony, and well that came to an end!  I balled like a little school girl once again!   I mean I just remembered so many things, how blessed we are to have a plate of food in front of us.  That thanks to those Pioneers that went through SO MUCH I am here right now.  They sacrificed their lives for this church, and we think 2 years is hard!  IT NOTHING!  I’m SO darn blessed and the least I can do is give ALL to the Lord in my Mission.  Wow, I was so humbled watching that movie, and then the thought hit me, that they are my family!  I come from a Pioneer family, I have Pioneer blood in my veins, and I just got to thinking what would have happened if they had just given up!  Where would I be?  Where would we be as a family?  And what could have happened if I just bag my mission, how many generations would I effect!?  Flip it’s time to step everything up!  I have LESS than 6 months to work in the Lord´s Vineyard!  I have to get back to the field ASAP!  I love the office it has been an experience like none other, but its game time, I just want to Baptize the whole Flippin Country of Peru Right now!  I mean that movie was SO Wonderful, Marvelous, please watch it and the Pioneers and get to WORK!  Dad and mom, I would like some Pioneer stories that come from our family! And tell the Lundberg’s I’m SO game for trek next SUMMER!  LOVE YOU ALL AND LETS GET TO WORK!

Las Familias Pueden Ser ETERNAS!

May 5, 2012

HOLA FAMILIA!
What a week I’ll bets it’s been!  Sorry, I wasted about half my internet time looking at the wedding Pics (I, his mom sent him the wedding pictures! Aren’t MOMS the best!! =) so my letter won’t be that long!
But……

CONGRATS AISLEY AND RUSS!!!

The Pics look great; I bet it was a BLAST!  So how’d the wedding go? (It went well, totally a surreal experience for me as a MOM but it was a really nice day and everything turned out just how Ainsley wanted it to and that is what is important!!  I think it was a great day for “The New Banks Family” (not sure I can get used to Ainsley going by Ainsley Banks (one day at a time Carrie!!!!??), one they will look back on and say to each other: “That was one of the BEST Days of my life”!!)  I made sure to say a few special prayers for you guys, I’ll bet it was crazy and all that but hey I’m sure you all loved it!  I realized you changed my head on the cardboard cutout eh? (The picture he sent us was fine but the resolution of the picture wasn’t too good so that when they sharpened the image, it made Spencer’s teeth looked like they were all broken off in different lengths with jagged edges!! It was quite funny to look at but I didn’t want everyone to think that Spencer hadn’t taken care of his teeth while in Peru for 18 months!! =) Oh and his hair was super short or should I say……shaved…. Here is a picture =)  --------------------------- >
Haha I guess now I’m a fat old missionary with a shaved head... Bummer deal haha! !  Just kidding it looked a lot better than I look right now cause I don’t have hair at this instant, but its growing back!  Haha so I hope my voice recording turned out good, (It was hilarious and he even sang a little!) I don’t know if you ended up using it or not, if not - NO PROBLEM!  It might have been a little cheesy... woof!

But hey so a little bit of news here in the mission field, President told me I will be heading back out to the field at the end of this transfer!  I have really enjoyed my time in the office, sure I will really miss the guys in the office but it will be nice to get back to the field and be able to WORK MY PANTS OFF and give it all I got for these remaining 6 months!  Pretty weird to say I’ve been a missionary for 18 months now... yikes!  I feel like yesterday I barely had 6 months in the mish!  AY CARAMBA time is flying and it just keeps going faster and faster!

So this week after the Conference with the zone leaders, we all went to this park of crazy water fountains with President his family, the office and all the zone leaders!  We took a butt load of pics but my dang adapter isn`t working (it cost me 7 soles)  Like dad told me when I came home with a shaved head after a free Barber Brown haircut... Son, you get what ya pay for!  (Haha don’t worry Jordy, I still live for the Barber Brown Cut!)   Haha but anyways, I’m so happy Ainsley got married!  It is really so Awesome!  They will be a great couple together!  And I had forgotten that Russ is a pretty big dude and could pretty much beat the tar out of me... but hey we will see in November in the first wrestling match, and if that goes bad we are taking it to the Hardwood SON!  Haha!  So life is good, tell Ainsley and Russ CONGRATS!  I’m so happy for them!  I will be calling Monday for 3 minutes to set up the phone call on Mother’s Day, yes I want to use skype!  Dad I was wondering if it can be a 3 way skype call with Ainsley if that’s possible!  Seeing that she is in SPAIN! Flip I haven’t even been to Canada and Ainsley has already covered three fourths of Europe!  So I am thinking of using skype on Friday or Saturday cause Saturday in the afternoon I will be going to Tarma and then La Merced for some interviews and conferences with President, but just to let you know, that’s what I’m kinda thinking!

Love ya fam!  CUIDESE MUCHO!

Elder McGhie
ps mom there is an email from president on here with like 20 pics from the water park, feel free to download em (I already had them downloaded before I read this, we never know when we are going to get an email from him anymore so I get on his and check all the time and sometimes I find fun things like pictures from his mission President or calendars for the year, fun things like that!! =)!!and I AM WAITING FOR MY PACKAGE VERY PATIENTLY BUT HEY COME ON NOW I SENT MINE NOW ITS YOU TURN! I am so sorry that I havent kept this blog up to date!!

Our daughter is getting married tomorrow!!  It is the first wedding in our family and yes, our daughter Ainsley is getting married while Spencer is still on his mission!!  They seem fine about it, I am the only one who wants him here right now but I know he is where he is supposed to be and that is good!!

So tomorrow is the wedding and then my mom has knee surgery and then hopefully our life will get really boring and I will be able to catch the blog up!!  I really am sorry that I have been so terrible about updating the blog but having a wedding is really a surreal experience and very stressful!  It is good but bitter sweet as my oldest child's, childhood is officially over tomorrow!!  I will miss having her living here!!  Makes me cry but I know she is happy and she is marrying a wonderful person and they are going to be very happy!!  But I am going to miss her very much!!  Sometimes being a mom is hard on the heart!!! =)

April 30, 2012

Just a short one today!

Hola,

SO this is going to be pretty darn quick, but I just wanted to stop by and tell you what’s going on.  So this week has been pretty good.  I’m sorry I couldn’t write earlier this week, but I was traveling through the cities of Peru!!!  Haha, so in 3 days I traveled one whole day, yes 24 hours haha!  I went from Lima to Huancayo (7 hours) then from Huancayo to La Merced 4 hours, from La Merced to a little town in the jungle called Villa Rica which was 3 hours to go due to construction, and 2 hours going back to La Merced on the same day and then that night traveling from La Merced to Lima 8 hours.  Yep from Wednesday in the Morning and Leaving Friday night to get to Lima Saturday morning a complete time of 24 hours!  Flip, I was pretty much dead when I got to Lima Saturday morning!  Haha but it was a great experience I was in divisions with Elder Biliter, who is a Champ!  And also in La Merced I was with Elder Rider from Salt Lake, it was pretty cool.  So that was pretty much my whole week traveling in splits.  So I will be sending a few pics and a tape recording and all that jazz in a few minutes.  I will give you a better recap on the voice recording!  I will send pics later tonight and a weekly recap tomorrow on tape... sorry!  LOVE YA!

LIVING IN LLAMALAND!

LIVING IN LLAMALAND!

THATS A REAL LIVE BABY SLOTH ON MY NECK!!!! YEAH!!!

Oh and the last pic is me traveling back to lima, (we never got the picture of him traveling back to Lima…..so I guess we will just have to imagine it in our minds =)!! some old dude didn´t want to close his window on the bus for the whole 8 hours, the bad part is the window was above his head so all the wind came back at me, it was absolutely freezing and slightly miserable as we passed through the snow covered mountains of Peru, but I just call em more Gringo Adventures or Moments! YEEEEHAW!  Oh and the pic of me on the rock...yeah that’s a real machete(I can NOT see a Machete???? But I do see him on the rock, very puzzling???)! HAHAHAHAHA! QUE CHEVERE!  How’s the blog going mom?  I wonder if you have had time to load anything(Nope, I have never even made the blog…………..OF COURSE I HAVE MADE THE BLOG AND LOADED EVERYTHING!! Okay that isn’t true since I am 4 emails behind in sending them out and in putting them on the blog, very slothful MOM!!)?  Oh and President said he was reading your facebook and read that you closed my facebook and he said thanks for being a very obedient mom! HAHA! Chevere no!?
FAMILY!!!

Looks like today will be more pictures than words, but I will do my best!  So how are the wedding plans going?  I hope all is well, I imagine you are all very stressed and running around like chickens without heads, but hey that’s the way a wedding should be no?  My advice is that one night you can all sit down in the family room and watch “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” or “Father of the Bride”, I’m sure that will give you a few laughs and help out a little with the stress.  Because like my favorite scene from Father of the Bride goes…  “I want 6 hotdogs and 6 Buns, not 6 hot dogs and 8 buns!  Wanna know what happened, some BIG SHOT from the weenie company got together with some BIG SHOT from the bun company AND DECIDED TO RIP OFF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!!!”  Haha and it goes on with the I’m George Banks and I´ve had enough or something like that!  Haha but don’t worry too much and don’t get overly stressed, try to enjoy it just a little bit!  And don’t get tossed in the slammer Dad, like George Banks!  So I will be waiting patiently for my wedding invitation for me here in Peru.  So we talked with Pedro Contreras and he is coming Monday morning to get our package and send it to you guys!  Elder Madsen and I have combined everything into one package, there is stuff for all of you guys so enjoy!!!  Finally, thanks to Elder Madsen I managed to get the package ready haha!  Oh and I also burned all my pics and videos onto Elder Madsen´s USB, so when the package gets there you need to open his USB and there is my folder with all the pics and videos!
So this week has been very interesting, after I wrote you on Monday Elder Pritchett his comp, Elder Farfan and I got permission from President Ardila to go see the Waterfalls, so that was SOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!  Enjoy the pics, in one of the pics its like “Where´s Waldo”.

This picture is turned sideways and I tried to make it not be
sideways but it just wants to be this way..........so I am letting it be =)!!!

I´m just a little speck in the pic and then the giant waterfall!  Oh how I would love to actually serve in la Merced, lots of prayers and faith!  Haha so life is good, we just keep on movin on, Martin and Nardy aren´t going to get married this month, they had a few problems with their papers and they are just missing one little signature! ONE! But the date to turn your papers in for the month already passed… bummer but hey they are still very excited to get married and baptized in May.  We also have a 19 year old teen named Luis who is reading and praying for his answer and our convert presented us her friend, her name is Norma and very excited to get baptized the 28th!  So keep on going and praying and it will all work out just fine!

Love ya’ll!

HOLA MI ESTIMADA Y QUERIDA FAMILIA!

Well I have had some of the greatest experiences of my mission these last few days.  So, Saturday morning President Ardila and I loaded up his car and off we went to Cerro de Pasco (THE HIGHEST STAKE IN THE WORLD)  Yep, going from sea level to who knows how many feet in just about 7 hours!  So it was SO awesome to go with President Ardila (he is his mission president, just in case someone didn’t know who he was ?=), I just about bombarded him with 150 questions haha, I was a little excited and nervous and well you guys know me, I’m not the quietest person on this planet (takes after Marty, since I am one of the quietest people ever born!! =)… haha, so that was so awesome and President Ardila is a Champ and answered all my questions and then he made me study verses and tell him what I understood and all that stuff !!haha!!  It was some good stuff.  I even had the nerve to ask him some questions about the Apocalypse (I don’t remember what the book is called in English, but it’s the last one in the bible about the end of the world)(I know he is talking about the Book of Revelations but I must admit I have never really read it, except for very small parts of it at different times and I know that I am admitting to not having enough faith to just understand it , but I really just have no clue, unless I have use this amazing reference book I bought that explains all the symbols and difficult to understand wording, but it takes me a very long time to read one verse and then read the reference book, so to read a chapter takes me a few months or years …… actually I must admit that I have never even tried to read a whole chapter........I know it lame… but as Spencer always says… haha, don’t judge me =) !!!!)  It’s his favorite book in the bible and I don’t know didily squat about apocalypse so he enlightened me to say the least!  So we got to Cerrro and it was Stake Conference, so President Ardila was giving his talks and all that, and the Zone Leaders ( Elder Johns from Southern Illinois and Elder Merril from Utah)  OH and mom, I talked to Elder Johns all about Southern Illinois and I told him you went to Southern Illinois University and that you were a Saluki, he just about fell on the floor!Haha!! He lives like 15miles from there in like bell view (He means Belleville, Illinois…. isn’t Belleview an  infamous insane asylum ?? !!! =) Anyway, I lived close to BELLEVILLE on Scott Air Force Base for 5 years and graduated from Southern Illinois University!!  Only Spencer would call me a Saluki!!) or something but tell me where you guys lived so we can talked more about SIU!Haha!  Elder Johns is a champ and so is Elder Merrill!  They had 2 baptism planned for that day, a mother and her niece, her 2 daughters had listened to the missionaries and said they wanted to be baptized but kept on delaying their baptismal date.  The said, no we want to get baptized next week (like they all say)!  So when the daughter got out of her baptismal interview, she said nope, I’m not ready, but I felt the sudden need to talk with her, luckily I followed the promptings of the Spirit and asked the Zone leaders if I could talk to her, they said, yeah that would be great.  I went into that interview with such a strong feeling that she was going to get baptized, I sat down, asked what her name was, and told her I was Elder McGhie and that I had come from Lima to Cerro that day to baptize her!  Haha you should have seen the look on her face!  We talked and read the scriptures and as we were about to read in 2 Nephi 32 about the Holy Ghost, she stopped and said, OK, I’M GETTING BAPTIZED! Haha  So then I just had to talk to her little sister who is 9, and I thought it would be a cake walk for her to want to get baptized too! WRONG!  That little girl was so stubborn but finally accepted to get baptized with her sister, cousin and mom!  And then the older daughter wanted me to baptize here !   Haha, go figure eh!?  President Ardila got out of his meeting and saw me in this, too short white tunica (you have to see it to get how lovely Spencer looked, so I am going to insert a picture of him wearing the “tunica” right now!!) and was a bit surprised!!  I told him what happened and he was pretty darn happy!  It was a great experience and I’m so grateful for the chance to be and instrument in the Lord`s hands, if we are obedient and listen to the spirit we will see and work miracle in our lives and the lives of many others!!!
I love this GOSPEL!
CHAU!
Elder Spencer Marty McGhie!

This is Elder Bean from Arizona in the picture with Spencer; he is the brother in law to one of our favorite people, Ashley Hansen!!  Ainsley, Caroline, Teresa Fugate, Janece and I, all met him at Ashley’s wedding a few yrs. ago!!  So in case you didn’t understand my explanation; Ashley lived next door to us for 11 years with her wonderful family (The Hansens), and then they moved to Arizona (it was so sad that they moved)) is married to Elder Beans older brother, David Bean!

So this week is going to be absolutely nuts!  We have transfers this week; it’s always a very hectic, but entertaining week!  But I want to tell you what happened yesterday!  We were in Chosica almost the whole day doing service because Thursday there was a huge mud slide and it was pretty nuts.  We got there and it really sad, we went to help in one of the bishops houses and they all live a crevice of a valley and the valley is just hills and hills of dirt and sand.  So it all came crashing down the side of the mountain and the bishop there in the ward lives on the hill side, and the mud just busted right through his roof, of course their roof was just like metal sheet mail and it went right through and ruined it all.  We had to dig the mud out of the room and then take out the bed, dressers, mattresses, it was really sad.  But we were able to go and help and dig out the houses.  I was walking with Elder Morales and a guy called us for help so we went to help him, we thought he was a member because he recognized us as elders and he just looked like a member.  His house was in danger of collapsing and he wanted us to read the bible with him and pray.  We realized he wasn’t member and started to reach some chapters in John and talk about how we are all in the hands of the Lord.  That he is so merciful with us, that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for us, that we might live again!  And we told him that it was his turn to do something for the Lord, and to search for him, and we taught him about Baptism and invited him to baptism for this 29th of April, he accepted and said in this tragedy he has realized the need he has to search for the Lord and change his life.  It was a really amazing experience and I just realized that the Lord hand is in all things!!  I love what President Monson has said, that there are no such things as coincidences, we must search the hand of the Lord in all things and we will find it!!  That is 100 percent true!  I love ya and I hope you really enjoy Easter, that you can take a minute to think about the important things in life and prioritize it all in order!

LOVE YA!

HAY CARAMBA!!!

April 3, 2012

Hola,
SO, I imagine I need to explain a little about the pictures of me sleeping in the chapel…  Haha so last week I got sicker than I have been in my whole mission.  Last Monday my stomach  started to hurt and I thought I was just hungry because we had fasted the day before and I didn´t eat a lot of lunch…  turns out I had a stomach virus and slept about 2 hours that night and well 1 hour in the bathroom throwing up with the RUNS! YAY!  So I was bummed, first time I upchucked in my whole mission, it was a personal goal to not throw up, but hey I guess that’s about impossible for a Gringo in Peru for 2 years! But hey I almost made it 17 months!  So Tuesday morning after a very long night I had to get up at 6 to prepare the multi-zone conference, and so we went and were getting everything ready and I thought I was better, but I ended up in the bathroom throwing up AGAIN!!! YAY!Haha!  So, Sister Ardila saw me for 2 seconds and called me over and asked, ummm..... Elder McGhie are you alright?   I told her, well no, I am pretty bad actually!  So she sent me to one of the class rooms to rest and then later they gave me some pills that knocked me right out and I fell asleep in the chapel, so my comp and Elder Morales thought it was pretty funny and took some pics!  I found them amusing!Haha!!  The bummer is that I was supposed to travel to La Merced, that night, but that wasn’t going to happen so I didn’t get to go and be with Elder Brown… BUMMER!  I feel like I have said, “so” about 500 times!  Sorry, I cant write nor speak English!  But don’t worry mom I am all better and the good news is I lost 5  pound in less than 2 days!!! YAY!  And that inspired me and Elder Udall, cause he got really sick and went to the hospital and lost like 10 pounds, so now we are running in the mornings! HAHA!!
Also I took all the pics  for the card board cutout that I have been waiting for my whole life but an elder lent me his adapter and the computer cant read it and I didn’t have time to copy the pics to my USB, I can send from my USB directly but from my card no! HOW ANNOYING!  So I will send em Saturday!   And I really feel bad for not sending Liney her package!  I have it all bought and ready  it’s a matter of putting it in a box and sending it to yall! Being sick with conferences has made me so busy that I don’t even have time to read the book of Mormon!  I miss studying SO MUCH!  But it’s all good, I just will keep on chugging here and I'm really sorry I haven’t sent yall cards or anything…   I'm going 100 mph but I just need to organize myself more…  So I'm sorry there isn’t much time, I am going to Huancayo with Elder Biliter, Elder Paolacci, Elder Vanwagoner, and Elder Echeverria, and we will be traveling together tomorrow, tell their moms hi from them, they are really great missionaries!    So My time is up I love you so much and I will send the pic Saturday!
